The journey
Tierra Vacía is a burgeoning young band from Nashville, TN. They are poised to advance the mission that began in 2022 with the writing of the first song, Rumble, by founding band member, Matthew Murias.
The band has gone through a dynamic journey to land where they are today, with the current musicians who have joined Matthew, sharing his spiritual and musical vision.
The original band has evolved over time, based on individual life and musical goals. The exciting makeup of the band today is Sophia Burr (lead vocals), Matthew Murias (guitar), and William Burr (guitar). And they are currently joined on stage by musicians Micah Galicinski (keys), Sam Galicinskli (bass) and Clarke Judd (drums).
Tierra Vacía is currently promoting the debut album, “Rumble”, as well as their acoustic album “Rumble Unplugged”.
Performing with Matthew on the album "Rumble" were former band members Amber Yarbrough (vocals, flute) and Andrew Yarbrough (guitar). Also joining them in the studio were the phenomenal Jonathan Crone (guitar), Tony Morra (drums/producer), Adam Nitti (bass), and Michael Wittaker (keys).
The mission
Tierra Vacía pushes cultural and spiritual boundaries with their music and lyrics, making them bold, courageous and relevant. The symphonic metal project “Rumble” began when drummer and guitarist Matthew Murias felt an an undeniable calling to share his music as a response to today's current events and age-old questions. The band began when he gathered a few of his incredibly talented friends to record and perform his songs and and to write new music that would push forward the same vision as his first project “Rumble”. Thus, Tierra Vacía began and has grown and evolved over time to include the current members.
Tierra Vacía means "Empty Earth". We live in an era where there is a rising desperation for truth in a culture that is rapidly becoming spiritually void. In a time when many nations are succumbing to tyrannical rulers and the complete abandonment of the intrinsic value of the human being, music is a way to fight back against the monumental changes that are happening in society as well as the evil that has existed since the beginning of time. So "Rumble" is Tierra Vacia's attempt to return meaning back into the Earth through the art of music. It hopes to be an answer for those who are a part of the silent majority looking for answers to very serious questions.
"Rumble" is a direct call to action prompted by God to take a stand against the snares of the enemy. It's purpose is to awaken the listener from a spiritual slumber and to infuse life into those who are already in the fight against darkness. The band feels a rumble in their spirit to use their music to send out a call for others to join them in standing for truth.

The Tierra Vacía logo sits inside a blue circle, representing the earth. The double flowing curve of the "V" has a two-fold meaning. First, it is symbolic of the "river of the water of life" from Revelations 22:1. Second, it represents the Holy Spirit, who goes about the earth with His presence. We call upon the Holy Spirit to be a part of our music and message to help fill the spiritual void (the "Empty earth" which is the "Tierra Vacia" ).
